Jane’s Walk is an annual series of free, volunteer-led urban walks that honour urbanist, journalist, author, and activist Jane Jacobs (4 May 1916 – 25 April 2006), and her efforts to champion the voices of the masses in neighbourhood planning and city building. The Walks usually take place in the month of May – Mrs Jacobs’ birth month, and each Walk lasts between 90 minutes and three hours.

Jane’s Walk aims to connect, share, and develop ideas among participants and Walk Leaders, about where our communities are at, and where they are headed. Through the simple act of walking, Jane’s Walk encourages participants to take in the physical spaces around them, observe, reflect, share, and re-imagine the places in which they live, work, and play.
